Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Justification for type of information:
Read-across from the alternative salt form of the registered substance is justified as per the justification document in section 13.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:

GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Test organisms (species):
Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio)
Test type:
static
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
96 h
Remarks on exposure duration:
Exposure duration according to guideline.
Post exposure observation period:
Post exposure observation not performed
Nominal and measured concentrations:
Nominal concentration: 250 mg/L (based on test substance mass without a correction for purity)
Mean measured concentration: 111.2 mg/L
Reference substance (positive control):
no

Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
NOEC
Effect conc.:
> 111.2 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
meas. (arithm. mean)
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
There was no mortality in any replicate and no toxic signs observed over the exposure period.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
Positive control not performed.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The LC50 in fish in a short term toxicity study in zebrafish was found to be >111.2 mg/L (measured) / >250 mg/L (nominal) after 96 hours of exposure to the read-across substance. No mortality or toxicity were observed in the study. These results are directly applicable also to the target substance.

Description of key information

In a 96 hour acute toxicity study in danio rerio with the read-across substance, the LC50 was >250 mg/L (nominal) and 111.2 mg/L (measured conc.). No acute adverse effects were observed.
