Additional information

Adsorption  coefficients (Koc) on soil and on sewage sludge has been estimated using  high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in accordance with OECD/EU test methods. The substance itself, 1,2,3,6 -tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, a specific isome of THPA, was found to possess a log Koc, soil of 1.70 and log Koc. sewage sludge of 1.72. These values correspond to a Koc, soil of 49.63 and Koc, sewage sludge of 52.00. The adsorption coefficient of hydrolysed test item (tetrahydrophthalic acid) was found to be log Koc, soil -1.34 and log Koc sewage sludge -1.57, these corresponding to a Koc.soil of 0.05 and Koc. sewage sludge of 0.03. According to the McCall classification scheme of soil mobility potential the substance would be regarded as very highly mobile (Koc = 0 - 50) in soil.
