Description of key information

Appearance (Color, Physical State and Odor)

Yellow translucent liquid at 20 °C by visual assessment. Designed to be compatible with Methods 830.6302, 830.6303 and 830.6304 of the OCSPP Guidelines, August 1996.

The odor was not determined as it could not be confirmed definitively at the time the study was conducted that performing the odor determination would not present a hazard to study personnel.

 

Melting/Freezing Point

9 ± 3 °C (285 ± 3 K) using the pour point method, designed to be compatible with Method A.1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and Method 830.7200 of the OCSPP Guidelines, March 1998.

 

Boiling Point

Decomposed on boiling from approximately 320 °C (593 K) by differential scanning calorimetry, designed to be compatible with Method A.2 Boiling Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 103 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and Method 830.7220 of the OCSPP Guidelines, August 1996.

 

Density

1.14 x 103kg/m3at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, relative density 1.14, using a pycnometer method, designed to be compatible with Method A.3 Relative Density of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 02 October 2012 and Method 830.3000 of the OCSPP Guidelines, June 2002.

 

Surface Tension

The surface tension was not determined according to a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 since the water solubility was determined to be less than 1 mg/L. The method guidelines states that substances with a water solubility less than 1 mg/L need not be tested for surface tension.

Less than 8.6 x 10-5g/L of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, using the flask method, designed to be compatible with Method A.6 Water Solubility of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 105 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and Method 830.7840 of the OCSPP Guidelines, March 1998.

 

Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water)

Greater than 2.51 x 109, log10Pow> 9.4, using the HPLC method, designed to be compatible with Method A.8 Partition Coefficient of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 117 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004 and Method 830.7570 of the OCSPP Guidelines, August 1996.

 

Flash Point

135 ± 2 °C, using a closed cup equilibrium method designed to be compatible with Method A.9 Flash Point of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

 

Explosive Properties

Predicted as negative, non-explosive, based on the chemical structure of the test item, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.14 Explosive Properties of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

 

Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases)

418 ± 5 °C, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.15 Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

 

Oxidising Properties (Liquids)

Predicted as negative, non-oxidising, based on the chemical structure of the test item, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.21 Oxidising Properties (Liquids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Vapor Pressure

The vapor pressure of the test item has been determined to be 6.3 x 10-11Pa at 25 °C, using the vapor pressure balance method, designed to be compatible with Method A.4 Vapour Pressure of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 104 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 23 March 2006 and Method 830.7950 of the OPPTS Guidelines August, 1996.
