First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
- Eye contact : immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical attention if irritation occurs. Inhalation : Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention following exposure or if feeling unwell. In case of inhalation of combustion or decomposition fumes: bring the exposed person to fresh air and get medical aid immediately.
- Skin contact : wash contaminated skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
- Ingestion : wash out mouth with water. If material has been swallowed and the exposed person is conscious, give small quantities of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Keep person warm and at rest. Get medical attention immediately.
-Protection of first-aiders : no action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. It may be dangerous to the person providing aid to give mouth to-mouth resuscitation.

- Hazards from the substance or mixture : fine dust clouds may form explosive mixtures with air.
- Hazardous thermal decomposition products : decomposition products may include the following materials: sulfur oxide, phosphorus oxides .

Advice for firefighters
- Special protective actions for firefighters : promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Move containers from fire area if this can be done without risk. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. This material is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Fire water contaminated with this material must be contained and prevented from being discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain.
- Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and selfcontained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode. Clothing for fire-fighters (including helmets, protective boots and gloves) conforming to European standard EN 469 will provide a basic level of protection for chemical incidents.

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- For non-emergency personnel : no action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Evacuate surrounding areas. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Shut off all ignition sources. No flares, smoking or flames in hazard area. Avoid breathing dust. Put on appropriate personal protective equipment. Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate.
- For emergency responders : if specialised clothing is required to deal with the spillage, take note of any information in Section " Exposure controls/personal protection" on suitable and unsuitable materials. Environmental precautions
Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers. Contain and absorb using earth, sand or other inert material. Inform the relevant authorities if the product has caused environmental pollution (sewers, waterways, soil or air). Water polluting material. May be harmful to the environment if released in large quantities. The product sinks in water, but water streams may carry smaller particles away.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
- Small spill : use spark-proof tools and explosion-proof equipment. Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Eliminate all ignition sources. Use a tool to scoop up solid or absorbed material and place into appropriate labeled waste container.

Precautions for safe handling
-Protective measures : Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see section " Exposure controls/personal protection"). Use only with adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate. Avoid the creation of dust when handling and avoid all possible sources of ignition (spark or flame). Prevent dust accumulation. Avoid breathing dust. Do not ingest. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid release to the environment. Refer to special instructions/safety data sheet. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharges. To avoid fire or explosion, dissipate static electricity during transfer by grounding and bonding containers and equipment before transferring material. Electrical equipment and lighting should be protected to appropriate standards to prevent dust coming into contact with hot surfaces, sparks or other ignition sources. Use nonsparking tools.
- Advice on general occupational hygiene : Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored and processed. Workers should wash hands and face before eating, drinking and smoking. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area. Eliminate all ignition sources. Separate from acids. Separate from alkalis. Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
If this product contains ingredients with exposure limits, personal, workplace atmosphere or biological monitoring may be required to determine the effectiveness of the ventilation or other control measures and/or the necessity to use respiratory protective equipment. Reference should be made to monitoring standards, such as the following: European Standard EN 689 (Workplace atmospheres - Guidance for the assessment of exposure by inhalation to chemical agents for..), European Standard EN 14042 (Workplace atmospheres - Guide for the application and use of procedures for the assessment of exposure..), European Standard EN 482 (Workplace atmospheres - General requirements for the performance of procedures for the measurement of...). Reference to national guidance documents for methods for the determination of hazardous substances will also be required.

Exposure controls
- Appropriate engineering controls : Use only with adequate ventilation. If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapor or mist, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits. Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment.
- Individual protection measures
# Hygiene measures : wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

- Skin protection
# Hand protection : Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Considering the parameters specified by the glove manufacturer, check during use that the gloves are still retaining their protection. It should be noted that the time to breakthrough for any glove material may be different for different glove manufacturers.
# Body protection : wear fire/flame resistant/retardant clothing.
