Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference substance:
Oligomerisation products of alpha-pinene and beta-pinene
Reference substance:
Oligomerisation products of alpha-pinene and beta-pinene
Reference substance:
Oligomerisation products of alpha-pinene and beta-pinene
Reference substance:
Oligomerisation products of alpha-pinene and beta-pinene
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

All of the consituents in the registered substance have been assessed for their potential PBT properties using QSAR models.

None of the constituents and potential constituents of Terpene Oligomers are PBT or vPvB. The main constituents in the substance, i.e. Terpene dimers, trimers, and tetramers, are potentially Persistent (P/vP). As persistence appears to increase with the addition of further molecular units, pentamers have also been assumed to be potentially P/vP. However, the constituents are likely to be not Bioaccumulative (not B/vB) based on calculated BCF values <2000. The potential for bioaccumulation decreases as the number of molecular units increases and therefore it is expected that as the dimers, trimers and tetramers are all non-bioaccumulative then the pentamers will also not be B/vB.

None of the constituents fulfil the criteria for all three inherent properties P, B and T or both inherent properties vP and vB, respectively, and so they cannot be classified as PBT nor vPvB. The detailed results of the assessment can be found in Section 13 of this dossier.
