Description of key information

The relative density of delta-3-carene (D20/4) is 0.863 ± 0.001 (OECD 109).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.863

Additional information

The relative density of delta-3-carene at 20°C in reference with water at 4°C was determined in a study performed according to OECD Guideline 109 and EU method A3 using an oscillating densimeter. The value was considered with a reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) because the result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP and some details were lacking in the report. However the relative density is valid as key value and supported by consistent data from 2 handbooks which are in the same order of magnitude.
