Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017-08-04 (experimental phase)
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Version / remarks:
(EC) No 440/2008 Annex, Part A, A.9.: “Flash Point”.
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point apparatus:
Pensky-Martens apparatus
Key result
Flash point:
148.1 °C
Atm. press.:
101.3 kPa
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The study was performed according to EU method A.9 with the Pensky-Martens closed cup method on the substance to be registered itself, the test procedure is sufficiently documented and therefore reliability of Klimisch 2 has been assigned. The flash point was determined to be 148.1 °C at 101.3 kPa. Hence, it does not need to be regarded as flammable liquid according to Regulation 1272/2008, as it defines flammable liquid as a liquid having a flash point of not more than 60°C.
Executive summary:

The flash point was determined according to EU method A.9 with the Pensky-Martens closed cup method to be 148.1 °C at 101.3 kPa. The substance is not a flammable liquid according to Regulation 1272/2008.
