Short-term toxicity to fish

The acute toxicity of the test substance to Rainbow Trout (Salmo gairdneri) was determined in a study (BASF SE, TX 81056, 1981) according to a method equivalent to OECD 203 under non GLP conditions. After 96 hours the LC50 was determined to be 13.3 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to invertebrates

The acute toxicity of the test substance to Daphnia (Daphnia magna) was determined in a study (BASF SE, 50E0492/01X077, 2016) according to a method OECD 202 under GLP conditions. After 48 hours the EC50 was determined to be 17.75 mg/L.

Toxicity to algae and cyanobacteria

The toxicity of the test substance to the freshwater alga Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined in a study (BASF SE, 01/0492/60/1, 2002) according to the principles of OECD 201 (1984) under GLP conditions. The following effect concentrations (mg/L) were obtained after 72-h based on nominal concentration: The 72-hour ErC50 value was determined to be 37 mg test item/L. The 72-hour NOErC was determined to be 12.5 mg/L and the associated 72-hour ErC10 was determined to be 22.1 mg/L.

Toxicity to microorganisms

The objective of this GLP study (BASF SE, 01/0492/08/1, 2002) according to OECD 209 (2010) was to determine the toxic effects of the test substance on the oxygen consumption rate of aerobic micro-organisms (activated sludge) after short-term exposure of 30 min, compared with the blank control. The EC50 for the test substance was determined to be about 500 mg/L.
