Additional information

PNECs for water, sediment and soil have not been derived as no toxicity was observed in available studies. The substance has potential to persist and bioaccumulate and this is therefore the main environmental concern.

Conclusion on classification

No toxicity was observed in acute studies in daphnia, algae or fish (fish study conducted on a structurally similar analogue substance), at the highest achievable test concentrations used in the studies.

Therefore, no acute toxicity has been observed at levels up to the water solubility of the substance.

However, due to the substances low water solubility (0.224 mg/l), high partition coefficient (log Pow >6.5) and not being readily biodegradable, the following 'safety net' classification applies as the study results indicate a potential to persist and bioaccumulate.
