First-aid measures

General information

The substance has to be handled under strictly controlled conditions.

• Inhalation: Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. lf not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

• Skin contact: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 20 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.

• Eye contact: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 20 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.

• Ingestion: If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Get medical aid immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Carbon dioxide, dry chemical power or appropriate form.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

Water jet

Advice for firefighters:

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters; use breathing apparatus with independent air supply; wear full protective clothing;

do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases.

Hazardous combustion product or gasses:

During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.

Accidental release measures

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective clothing. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, and full protective gear.

Collect contaminated water / firefighting water separately. Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater. Take up with absorbent material (e.g. sand, sawdust, general-purpose binder, kieselguhr).
