Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity: The 96 -h LC50 for fish was determined to be 1.7 mg/L using Oncorhynchus mykiss, the 48 -h EC50 for Daphnia magna was determined to be 2.5 mg/L and the ErC50 (24 -48h) for algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) was determined to be 42 mg/L. According to CLP, Annex I, Section 4.1, Table 4.1.0, in order to classify a substance as Acute 1, a L(E)C50 value for one of the trophic levels must be <= 1mg/L. As all the L(E)C50 values are >1 mg/L, classification for Acute aquatic toxicity is not required.

Chronic toxicity: The 33-d NOEC in an OECD TG 210 study using Pimephales promelas was reported as 0.455 mg a.i./L based on post-hatch survival. The 21-d NOEC in an OECD TG 211 study using Daphnia magna was reported as >= 2 mg a.i./L based on mortality and reproduction. The 72-h NOEC for algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) was reported as 15 mg/L (OECD TG 201, EU Method C.3). The substance is readily biodegradable. The substance is classified according to CLP, Annex I, Section 4.1, Table 4.1.0 as Aquatic Chronic 3.
