Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties of the registered substance were determined from experimental testing or from QSAR approach on the constituents of the substance. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of constituents or experience in handling and use of the substance.

The substance is a colourless to pale yellow mobile organic liquid at ambient temperature. It is slightly less dense than water and the water solubility depends on the loading rate of the substance (from insoluble to slightly soluble).

The substance is not considered to have surface active potential.

It has potential for bioaccumulation and is NOT classified as a flammable liquid.

Moreover, it is not classified as hazardous with regard to explosivity, self-heating and oxidising properties based on CLP criteria.

Additional information

Summary of relevant physico-chemical properties of the test item:

Endpoint

Data

Appearance

(visual)

The test item is a

colourless to pale yellow mobile

organic liquid at 20 °C and 1 atm.

Freezing point

(OECD 102/EU A1/ crystallizing point)

The freezing point of the test item was stated as <-20°C

Boiling point

(OECD 103/EU A2, Siwoloboff and DSC method)

No boiling point temperature was determined as the test item decomposed.

The beginning of decomposition process was indicated as: 301.38 °C (574.53 K).

However a thermal transition was observed, i.e. boiling point with decomposition.

The beginning of boiling under decomposition was determined as the exothermic event with 309.92°C (583.07K).

Relative density (OECD 109/EU A3, pycnometer)

The density of the test item was determined to be 0.9763 ± 0.0003 g/cm3at 20.0 ± 0.4 °C.

Granulometry

(waiving)

not applicable (liquid)

Vapour pressure

(OECD 104/EU A4, static method )

The Vapour Pressure of the test item was measured as 349 Pa at 20 °C and 427 Pa at 25 °C

(interpolation)

Log Kow

(QSAR calculation, Kreatis)

The partition coefficient of constituents of the substance was determined to be between 4.5 and 6.9 at 25°C.

Therefore the substance has potential for bioaccumulation.

Water solubility

(QSAR, Kreatis mixture approach)

The water solubility of constituents of the test item was determined to be between 0.000479 and 5.42 mg test item/L at 25°C.

The substance is considered as insoluble to slightly soluble in water pending on the loading rate.

Surface tension

(waiving)

Study scientifically unjustified based on non-intended use.

Auto-ignition temperature

(EU A15)

The auto-ignition temperature of test item was determined to be 255 °C.

Flash-point

(EU A9, OPPTS 830.6315,

non-equilibrium closed cup)

Self-heating substances/mixtures

(data waiving)

Flammability air/water (data waiving)

The flash point of test item was determined to be 145.5°C.

The test item is NOT considered to be Flammable Liquid.

Waiving (based on physical state : Liquid)

No hazardous reaction anticipated if contact with air or water, based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use.

Explosive properties

(waiving)

Waiving

(based on chemical structure of the constituents of the substance)

No explosive properties are anticipated

Oxidising properties

(waiving)

Waiving

(based on chemical structure of the constituents of the substance)

No Oxidising properties are anticipated

Slight variations are possible with composition (UVCB substance).
