Description of key information

No self-ignition temperature was observed until the maximum temperature of 402°C (EU Method A.16).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Auto-flammability temperature of 3-Ammonio-4-methoxyphenyl)(2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium sulphate was determined following the EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids) and the GLP.

Eight cm3(7 g) of the test substance was placed in an oven at 20°C; the temperature/time curve relating to conditions in the centre of the sample was recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to 400°C at a rate of 0.5°C/min.

No self-ignition temperature was observed in the temperature range of 20 - 402 °C. An endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range 130 - 170 °C. After the measurement the test substance remained as slag.
