Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information on results:
Observations:
A moderate dose dependent increase in revertant colony
numbers was observed following treatment with
7-ethyltryptophol in strain TA98 with S9 mix in experiment
I. The threshold of twice the number of the corresponding
solvent control was slightly exceeded at 1000 and 2500
μg/plate. To ensure reproducibility of this effect and to
improve the sensitivity of the assay, the second experiment
was performed as pre-incubation assay and again, the number
of colonies exceeded the threshold at 1000 μg/plate. In both
experiments the number of colonies was reduced at 2500 and
5000 μg/plate due to overlapping toxic effects.
Appropriate reference mutagens were used as positive
controls. They showed a distinct increase of induced
revertant colonies.
