Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two studies on toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria is submitted with this dossier. One of the studies is performed on the 2 -tert butylaminoethyl methacrylated while the other is performed on the read across substance 2-Dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate.

The effect of 2-tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was evaluted according to an OECD 201 test. At the highest test concentration of 73.30 mg/L (geometric mean of concentrations measured at the beginning and the end of the test), no effect was observed after 72 hours. The ErC50 and NOEC are thus higher than 73.30 mg/L.

For the second study, performed on the read across substance 2-Dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate the original report is not available. However, the report is cited in a per-reviewed OECD SIDS. Hence, the reliability was taken from the OECD report. The ErC50 was established to 69.7 mg/L and the NOEC to 32 mg/L

Reported key values for the chemical safety assessment were taken from the study performed on the actual substance 2 -tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate and not from the reports on the read across substance 2-Dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate.
