Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Since the substance hydrolyses in water, determination of the water solubility according to EU test method A.6 is not possible.

Data taken from an MSDS states that the water solubility of the substance is 18 g/L at 25 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
18 g/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

In the HPLC chromatogram of the water solution (after only 24 h equilibration) there is a large peak, consisting of hydrolysis products of the test substance. This shows that the substance is not stable during the test conditions. Thus it is not possible to use EU test method A.6 in order to determine the water solubility of the test substance.

The key study, based on a report by Koban (2008), states that the substance hydrolyses in water and due to this they were not able to measure the water solubility of the test substance, using EU test method A.6. Based on this it is likely that the stated water solubility of 18 g/L is the water solubility of not only the test substance, but also of its degradation products (due to hydrolysis).

The stated water solubility should therefore be regarded as not fully reliable.
