First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES
- Inhalation
If inhaled, move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration and/or oxygen. Get medical attention if symptoms persist.
- Skin contact
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if sympotms (irritation) develop and persist.
- Eye contact
Rinse eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical attention.
- Ingestion
If swallowed, wash out mouth iwth water. Get immediate medical attention.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED
To the best of our knowledge the toxicity of this substance has not been fully investigated, thus symptoms and effects are not fully known. Toxic if swallowed. Presence of heptanes may add headache, dizziness and drowsiness if inhaled and irritation if in eyes or by skin contact. Other adverse effects cannot be excluded.

INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDED
Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
- Suitable extinguishing media
Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide as appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media
No limitations given for this substance.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE
Combustible, but not flammable. In case of fire, toxic fumes of coarbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) may be emitted. No explosivity or flammability data identified. High concentrations of finely divided airborne organic particles can potentially explode if ignited.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact wiht skin and eyes. Prevent fire-extinguishing water from contaminating the watercourses.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTINS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEFURES
If product is released or split, take proper precautions to minimize exposure by using appropriate personal protective equipment (see section Exposure controls / Personal protection). Avoid raising dust.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Collect spillage and place in specific bins and send for destruction. Avoid release to drains.

METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTINMENT AND CLEANING UP
Moisten the spillages with water prior to sweeping up. Keep in closed suitable container and hold for waste disposal. Ventilate and wash spill site with water after competed pick up.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
Avoid breathing dust or vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Handle in well-ventilated areas. Use recommended personal protective equipment.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITES
Store at regular indoor conditions, generally 15 to 25C, and keep the container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS
To the best of our knowledge, there is noestablished occupational exposure limit value available for N-propionyl-(S)-5-methoxy-2-aminotetralin.

EXPOSURE CONTROL
- Appropriate engineering controls
Use appropriate controls (e.g. containment, local exhaust ventilation) as specified in a workplace risk assessment. Technical measures and appropriate operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
- Personal protective equipment
Eye face protection - Wear safety glasses with side shields. An emergency eyewash device should be available.
Skin protection - Handle with gloves. The selected gloves must comply with the specifications in EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374 or applicable federal, state and national legislation.
Protective clothing - Use protective clothing to prevent skin contact. The type should be selected according to concentrations, quantities and duration of handling at the specific workplace. In dust generating operation wear disposbable coverall.
Respiratiory protection - Required when dust is generated. Choice of respriatory protection should be appropriate to the task and the level of existing engineering controls. Use air-purifying respirator with combination filter for routine powder handling in process scale and positive-pressure air-supplied respirator if there is a potential of uncontrolled release. In laboratories, use fume hood or laminar flow booth.
Environmental exposure controls - Do not empty into drains.

Stability and reactivity

REACTIVITY
No known reactivity hazards under normal conditions.

CHEMICAL STABILITY
The substance is chemically stable at regular indoor temperature conditions, generally 15 to 25 C.

POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS AND CONDITIONS TO AVOID
None known

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS
Oxidants. Strong acids and bases.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS
Carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Disposal considerations

WASTE TREATMENT METHODS
Dispose waste at authorized plant, in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and/or applicable federal, state, national or local legislation.
