Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The relative self-ignition temperature of 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was not detectable as the sample melted at about 160°C and no significant phenomena were noted before melting.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Auto-flammability temperature of 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was determined by following the EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids) and the GLP.

8 cm3stainless steel cube was entirely filled with the substance and gently compressed bypushing the cube, then suspended in the centre of the oven at room temperature. One thermocouple was placed in the cube and the other one on the oven wall in order to record the oven temperature.

The two temperatures were recorded while the oven temperature was increased up to the melting point at a rate of 0.5 °C/min. Test was performed over a period of >12 h, from 20°C to 380°C.

The sample under examination melted at about 160°C and no significant phenomena were noted before the melting point.

The relative self-ignition temperature of 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was not detectable.
