Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The estimated value of log Koc for the test item AMINOL was determined to be 1.14 ± 0.012 corresponding to a Koc of 13.7.
Acc. to the MCCALL-classification scheme of soil mobility potential a Koc of 13.7 would mean very high mobility for AMINOL in soil. - Executive summary:
The estimation of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) on soil and on sewage sludge using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was carried out according to the principles of OECD/OCDE-Guideline No. 121 (adopted 2001-01-22) for the test item AMINOL (batch number: R0075037) on 2003-06-11 at the DR.U.NOACK·lABORATORIEN, Sarstedt, Germany. The test was conducted with a test item concentration of 5 mg/L in mobile phase of 45 % acetonitrile and 55 % borate-buffer pH 9.0. Samples of the test item AMINOL were analysed threefold via HPLC on a cyanopropyl (CN-) column with UV - detection. Calibration was performed using six reference items with known values of log Koc (values from batch equilibrium experiments given in literature), each with a nominal concentration of 5 mg/L in mobile phase. Analysis of the reference items were performed once before and after analysis of test item, respectively. Dead time of the HPLC-system was determined threefold using 5 mg/L sodium nilrate in mobile phase. For calibration data and details see part 4.2.
