Description of key information

Chlorendic Anhydride rapidly (instantaneously) hydrolyses to chlorendic acid. Chlorendic Acid was found to rapidly degrade in UV light, both in water (half-life 16 days) and on solid surfaces ( half-life 5 days). There was no evidence of biodegradation of Chlorendic Anhydride by the end of the test on Day 31. Substances are considered to be inherently biodegradable in accordance with the test guideline if a significant level of biodegradation, > 70%, is observed in the test. Chlorendic Anhydride cannot therefore, be considered to be inherently biodegradable.

The hydrolysis product Chlorendic Acid has a low potential for bioaccumulation.
