Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

No clear flame propagation was visually observed during the study. But others evidence of ignition have been observed during the test : audible pressure wave, temperature increased, smell of decomposition/ combustion products.

Therefore, at each test mixture the ignition evidence have been observed, it have been considered that ignition occurred.

Based on these observations, the test item possess a flammability range between 8 and 19 % (w/w)

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (flammable gases) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test item possess flammability ranges with air at 20°C and standard pressure of 101.3kPa.
The test item is ignitable in a mixture with air at a concentration lower than 13%. Therefore, based on GHS criteria, the test item is a flammable gas category 1.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test item was determined using the EU A.11 method and under GLP. No deviation from the guideline was observed during the study.

The flammability range have been determined on test item mixture with air at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. A spark was passed through the mixture and it was observed whether or not a flame detached itself from the ignition source and propagated independently. Increased mixture of test item in air have been tested.

The test item possess flammability ranges with air at 20°C and standard pressure of 101.3kPa.

The test item is ignitable in a mixture with air at a concentration lower than 13%, with the lower flammable limit higher than 6%(v/v). Therefore, based on GHS criteria, the test item is a flammable gas category 1B.

Description of key information

The test item flammability was determined on two forms: liquid and gas.

The flammability of the liquid MOVE 3 was evaluated using the flash point and the boiling point.

The flammability of the gaseous MOVE 3 was determined using the EU A.11 method and under GLP. No deviation from the guideline was observed during the study.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item boiling point is near 20°C and it possess a high vapour pressure at 20°C (respectively 19.5°C and 97 kPa determined in a key studies klimisch validity one). Based on these physico-chemical properties, the MOVE 3 flammability was determined on the liquid form and the gaseous form.

The flash point and the boiling point have been used to conclude on the test item liquid flammability. MOVE 3 possesses a flash point lower than -20°C and a boiling point of 19.5°C at 101.3 hPa. According to the GHS criteria liquid MOVE 3 is to be classified Flammable Liquid Category 1.

The flammability of the gaseous MOVE 3 was determined using a recognised guideline and under GLP. The flammable limits in air were determined to be 8 -19% (v/v). According to GHS criteria, the test item is classified as Flammable Gas Category 1B.
