Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation:Remove from exposure immediately. If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration. Keep person warm and at rest. Get medical advice/attention.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash affected skin area with water and soap and rinse thoroughly until no evidence of chemicals remains. Seek medical advice/attention if irritation persists.
Eye Contact: Check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately wash eyes with large amounts of water or normal saline, occasionally lifting upper lid and lower lids, for a few minutes until no evidence of chemical remains. Get medical advice/attention.
Ingestion: Get medical advice/attention if needed. If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration.
Fire-fighting measures
Flammable limits in Air-Lower: Not available. Flammable limits in Air-Upper: Not available Auto Ignition temperature: Not available
Hazardous Decomposition: Thermal decomposition products may include toxic and/or corrosive fumes of ammonia, toxide oxides of nitrogen and molybdenum trioxide.
Fire fighting extinguishing media: Extinguish using agent suitable for type of surrounding fire. Fire Fighting Instructions: No acute hazard. Move container from the fire area if possible. Avoid breathing vapors or dust; Keep upwind.
Protective Equipment for firemen: Wear self-contained respiratory proective device and protective clothing.
Fire and Explosion Hazards: Negligible fire hazard and when exposed to heat or flame. Unusual Hazards: None
Hazardous Combustion Products: Thermal decomposition may release toxic and/or hazardous gases.
Accidental release measures
Occupational spill: For large spills, avoid generating dust during clean up, place into suitable clean, dry container for reclamation or later disposal. Residues should be cleaned up using a high efficiency particulate filter vacuum.
Cleanup: Use a vacuum cleaner. Clean contaminated areas thoroughly. Make safe or remove all sources of ignition. Steps to be taken if material is released or spilled: Evacuate area: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubbers boots and heavy rubber gloves. Cover with dry lime or soda ash pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.
Handling and storage
Handling information: Avoid formation of dust. Observe applicable national and regional, state and local provisions when handling or storing this substance.
Storage: Store away from incompatible substances (Ammonium salts are incompatible with Nitrite Salts: violent explosions if melted, Potassium Chlorate: violent reaction).
