Conclusions:
Based on this ex vivo study, it can be concluded that succinonitrile can be metabolized to cyanide in the nasal tissue and -to a lesser extent- in the liver.
Executive summary:

In a microsomal enzyme assay it was shown that succinonitrile is metabolized to cyanide. Microsomal fractions from both nasal and liver preparations actively metabolized succinonitrile to cyanide.
