Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition coefficient (Pow) of Macrolex Rot E2G was determined by the Shake Flask Method according to the the guideline OECD 107 at room temperature (22 °C). The accompanying analyses were performed by HPLC-UV and HPLC-MS analysis. The partition coefficient was calculated from the initial weight, the content in the aqueous phase and the content in the n-octanol phase.

Result: Partition coefficient: log Pow = 5.5 (at 22 °C)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
5.5
at the temperature of:
22 °C

Additional information

Previous experiments using the HPLC method (Jungheim 2014) and the water and octanol solubilty method "ETAD" (Az 2015) yielded different results (logKow 6.2 and 4.42) which were difficult for interpretatation. Also the QPRF with a result of about logKow 3.7 did not yield a comparable result.

The test Jungheim 2017 can be considered as the most powerful method for determining the logKow as it is the "original" method using the real partition between water (octanol saturated) and octanol (water saturated) whereas the other methods are more or less derived from the original.
