Conclusion on classification

Based on the information available, the lowest EC50 value calculated from the acute aquatic toxicity studies = 6.48 mg/L. As the substance is inorganic, biodegradation results are not available, however, a study was conducted to investigate abiotic degradation which indicated that the substance was hydrolytically unstable at pH 4.0, 7.0 and 9.0 under the condition of the test. Although the results of the hydrolysis test shown that the test substance is predicted to be unstable in the environment, it does not meet the criteria of >70% abiotic degradation within 28 days at environmentally relevant temperatures for all enviromental relevant pH values. Therefore a conservative classification of Aquatic Chronic 2 (H411) is warranted in accordance with the CLP regulation (1272/2008EC, as amended).
