Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

TSP/DSP was tested for its skin sensitization potential in Dunkin-Hartley Guinea-pigs using the non-adjuvant Buehler test method (RBM study No. 970076, 1997). This study was a key study of validity 1 according to Klimisch cotation criteria.

No cutaneous reactions were observed in any of the test or control animals following induction and challenge phases with occlusive patch applications of 75% (w/v) of the test substance.

Therefore, the test item was considered as non sensitizing to the skin.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
No skin sensitization potential detected in a Buehler Test in Guinea-pigs.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to the absence of cutaneous reactions in a Buehler test at the concentration of 75% (w/v), no classification is warranted for skin sensitization according to the criteria of Annex VI Directive 67/748/EEC or UN/EU GHS.
