Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The relative density of Tetrachlorophthalic anhydride is 1.98 at 21 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.98

Additional information

The result is given as density in unit g/cm³. For assessment, the relative density, defined as follows, is preferred.

The relative density D204 of solids or liquids is the ratio between the mass of a volume of the substance, determined at 20 °C, and the mass of the same volume of water, determined at 4 °C. At this temperature the density of water is 0.999975 g/cm³. To convert the density to relative density the following formula is used: D204 = pSubstance (20°C) / pWater (4°C). The relative density has no dimension. It is assumed that the reported density at 21°C shows no significant deviation to the density at 20°C.
