Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Flash point:
147 °C
Atm. press.:
97.6 kPa

Preliminary determination: Flash at 146°C

Determination 1 (fresh sample): Flash at 146°C

Determination 2 (fresh sample): Flash at 146°C

Atmospheric pressure: 97.6 kPa

Corrected flash point: 146.86 °C

The final value is rounded to 147°C, with an accuracy of ± 2°C.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Remarks:
GHS and EU-CLP criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of test substance is above the classification thresholds of 60 °C (CLP criteria) or 93 °C (GHS criteria). Therefore the test substance is NOT classified as a flammable liquid.
Executive summary:

The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to ISO 3679 method (listed in EU A.9 guideline), using a closed cup equilibrium method.

Both duplicate determinations gave a FP of 146°C, under atmospheric pressure of 97.6 kPa. The measured value was then corrected to normal atmP.

The normal flash point of the test substance has been determined to be 147 ± 2 °C.

Description of key information

The substance is NOT classified as a flammable liquid neither according to CLP Regulation criteria, nor to UN GHS.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
147 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized EU/ISO guideline (equilibrium closed cup method) and under GLP, is available. It is considered as a key study, and the result is retained as key data.

This study is relevant for the classification regarding flammable properties. (see IU Section 4.13 endpoint summary for justification of non-classification)
