Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
ca. 5.9
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 6.5

It should be pointed out that DDT is the one with the largest lg Powvalue we can find from the references. The retention time of the sample achieved from the test was larger than DDT, however the lg Powvalue achieved from the linear fitting was smaller than DDT, the deviation equal to 0.3, which meet the accuracy requirement (±0.5 lg unit).

Conclusions:
The final result is lg Pow=5.9 (20°C, pH=6.5).
