Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Take affected persons out of danger area and lay down. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.
· After inhalation: Supply fresh air.
· After skin contact:
Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
· After eye contact:
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
· After swallowing:
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. If symptoms persist consult doctor. Do NOT induce vomiting.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents:
CO₂, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.
· For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet
· Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.
In case of fire, the following can be released:
Carbon monoxide
Carbon dioxide
Allylalcohol
Acrolein
· 5.3 Advice for firefighters
· Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
· Additional information
Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.
Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.
Accidental release measures
· Person-related safety precautions: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
· Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course. Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.
· Measures for cleaning/collecting: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust). Dispose contaminated material as waste according to official regulations.
Handling and storage
HANDLING
· Information for safe handling: Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed receptacles. Prevent formation of aerosols.
STORAGE
· Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store only in the original receptacle.
· Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from oxidizing agents.
· Further information about storage conditions: Protect from exposure to the light. Protect from humidity and water. Keep container tightly sealed.

Exposure controls / personal protection
EXPOSURE CONTROLS
· Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
· General protective and hygienic measures: Do not eat, drink, smoke or sniff while working. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing.
Store protective clothing separately. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
· Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated.
· Protection of hands: Protective gloves; Only use chemical-protective gloves with CE-labelling of category III.
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.
· Material of gloves: Butyl rubber, Nitrile rubber, NBR
· Penetration time of glove material: The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
· Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles
· Body protection: Protective work clothing
Stability and reactivity
· Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat. No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.
· Dangerous reactions: Reacts with strong alkali.
· Dangerous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, Allyl Alcohol and Acrolein
Disposal considerations
PRODUCT
· Recommendation: Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations. Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow
product to reach sewage system.
UNCLEANED PACKAGING
· Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
