Additional information

In a non-standard aquatic semi-static long-term juvenile growth assay conducted in Danio rerio, Ammonium Perchlorate was characterised by 4- and 12-week (chronic) NOECs of 10 mg/L Perchlorate ion for standard endpoints (mortality, growth, general condition, behavior) as well as whole-body T4 levels. The corresponding Ammonium Perchlorate NOEC was 12 mg/L.

The 12-week LOEC was 0.01 mg/L Perchlorate ion for colloidal T4 ring intensity (decreased), a very sensitive marker of T4 depletion. The corresponding Ammonium Perchlorate LOEC was 0.012 mg/L. This effect on a non-required endpoint is not considered for PNEC derivation in absence of effect on whole-body T4 levels and because hormones are not ecotoxicologically considered endpoints.
