First-aid measures

General information
If threatening unconsciousness, position and transport in recovery position
Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose it safely.
Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid.
In case of breathing difficulties give oxygen.

In case of inhalation
Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him immobile.
Seek medical treatment immediately.
In case of respiratory standstill give artifical respiration by respirator and send for a doctor.

In case of skin contact
If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention (P333+P313).
In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water.
Remove contaminated clothing immediately, even underwear and shoes.

In case of eye contact
In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

In case of ingestion
Call for a doctor immediately.
Rinse mouth.
Provide for plenty of water to be drunken in small gulps (dilution effect). Additionally medical charcoal tablets
should be given (1 spoon of medical charcoal suspension in a glass of water).

Fire-fighting measures

Foam

Dry fire-extinguishing substance:
Carbon dioxide
Water spray jet

Unsuitable extinguishing media:
Full water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Pyrolysis products of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons:
In the event of fire the following can be released:
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Use breathing apparatus with independent air supply.
Wear full protective clothing.
Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases.

Additional information:
Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.
Inhalation of dangerous decomposing products may cause severe damages to health.
Keep people away and stay on the upwind side.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures for non-emergency personnel:
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Avoid dust formation.
Use personal protective clothing.

Environmental precautions:
Collect contaminated water / firefighting water separately.
Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:
While filling and pouring suck off filling place.
Avoid the formation and deposition of dust.
Care for suitable extraction / ventilation at processing machines.
Treatment of product under strictly controlled conditions.
Open container only under local exhaust ventilation.
Transfer and handle product in dust-proof plants.
Suitable industrial vacuum cleaners or central extraction equipment must be used for taking up dust.

General protective measures:
Avoid contact with eyes and skin
Do not inhale dust.

Hygiene measures:
Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Provide washing facilities at place of work.
Do no eat, drink or smoke when using this product..
Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.
Keep away from food and drink.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Pay attention to general rules of internal fire prevention.
Avoid formation of dust.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels:
Ventilate store-rooms thoroughly.
Keep only in original container.

Advice on storage compatibility:
Do not store with acids, alkalies or combustible materials.
Do not store with oxidizing agents.

Further information on storage conditions:
Only for expert accessible.
Keep container tightly closed, store at cool and aired place, open and handle carefully.
Protect from light.
Do not store at temperature above 25°C (=77°F).
Protect from heat/overheating.
Protect from exposure to air/oxygen.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:
Breathing apparatus with combination filter A2/P2

Hand protection:
Gloves made of nitril rubber (NBR).
Glove material specification [make/type, thickness, permeation time/life, wetting resistance]:
The chemical resistance of the personal protection gloves for this special application should be clarified and
confirmed by the supplier.
Recommended protection glove type (use restriction time in hrs):
KCL 740 Dermatril (splash contact; thickness: 0,11 mm; break-through time: > 480 min).
KCL 740 Dermatril (full contact; thickness: 0,11 mm; break-through time: > 480 min)

Eye protection:
safety goggles with side protection

Other protection measures:
light protective clothing, thick material

Limitation and surveillance of the environment:
Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Appropriate engineering controls:
Avoid air feedback.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:
Accumulation of fine dust may entail the risk of a dust explosion in the presence of air and an ignition source.

Chemical stability:
Reactions with light.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:
The product is not a dust explosion risk as supplied however the build-up of fine dust can lead to a risk of dust explosions.

Conditions to avoid:
Heating (Decomposition!).

Materials to avoid:
Reactions with catalysts, oxidising agents and strong alkalies.

Hazardous decomposition products:
Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Pyrolysis products, aromatic and aliphatic.

Disposal considerations

Dispose of contents/container according to local national regulations.
In accordance with regulations for special waste, must be taken, after pretreatment, to an authorised special waste incineration plant.
