Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a flow-through system with the species Cyprinus carpio a BCF of < 0.8 at a concentration of 0.1 mg/l and < 8 at a concentration of 0.01 mg/l was determined for MBT(MITI 1992).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
0.8

Additional information

Should read <0.8 (data from MBT).

The dissolution of MBT determines the hazard profile of ZMBT aqueous solution; and hence the environmental fate and behavior of MBT is used as read-across approach to support the risk assessment of ZMBT.

ZMBT is an organic complex with where the relation of Zn to Sulfur bridge is considered to be ionic.

The dissolution of MBT determines the hazard profile of ZMBT aqueous solution; and hence the environmental fate and behavior of MBT is used as read-across approach to support the risk assessment of ZMBT. The read-across is justified as ZMBT has an ionic structure where MBT is contained.
