Specific details on test material used for the study:
Purity: >90%
Batch: 900150909STG115
Analytical monitoring:
yes
Details on sampling:
Chemical analysis of the test item was carried out at 0 and 48 hours.
Vehicle:
yes
Remarks:
dimethylformamide
Details on test solutions:
A nominal amount of test item (100 mg) was dissolved in dimethylformamide and the volume adjusted to 10 mL to give a 100 mg/10 mL solvent stock solution. An aliquot (500 μL) of this 100 mg/10 mL solvent stock solution was dispersed in 5 liters of deionized reverse osmosis water with the aid of magnetic stirring for approximately 30 minutes to give the required test concentration of 1.0 mg/L. After stirring any undissolved test item was removed by centrifugation at 10000 g for 30 minutes to give a 100% v/v solution of the test item.
Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Details on test organisms:
1st instar Daphnia magna derived from in-house laboratory cultures

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Exposure of Daphnia magna to the test item was investigated and gave the following result, EC50 0.042 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The substance was tested following the methods outline in the OECD 202 guideline. The test was conducted to GLP standards and fulfilled the validity criteria. The exposure of Daphnia magna to the test item gave an EC50 of 0.042 mg/L. As this result is above the water solubility of the substance, the substance is not considered toxic.

Description of key information

A 48h-EC50 of 0.042 mg/L was determined following the OECD 202 guidelines. This result is above the water solubility therefore the substance is not classified as acutely toxic.
