Key result
Flash point:
146.5 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa

Preliminary test

In the preliminary test the lowest temperature where an ignition was observed was 146.0 °C.

Main test

In the main test the lowest temperature where an ignition was observed was 146.0 °C.

The measured flash point (corrected to the ambient pressure) was : 146.64 °C.

The resulting average corrected flash point rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C was 146.5 °C.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point was determined to be 146.5 °C at 1013.25 hPa.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.9, OPPTS 830.6315 and CIPAC MT 12 (2009) to determine flash point of the test item using a closed cup method. The start temperature for the main test (146 °C) was chosen based on preliminary test results. 65-66 g of the test item was filled in the cup and heated to the estimated temperature. The measured flash point at atmospheric pressure was corrected to a standard pressure of 1013 hPa. The flash point of the test item was determined to be 146.5 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) at 1013.25 hPa.

Description of key information

The flash point was determined to be 146.5 °C at 1013.25 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
146.5 °C

Additional information

A study was conducted according to CIPAC MT 12 (2009) to determine flash point of the test item using a closed cup method. The start temperature for the main test (146 °C) was chosen based on preliminary test results. The flash point of the test item was determined to be 146.5 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) at 1013.25 hPa.
