Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two studies, investigating the toxicity of fatty acids, C8-10 (even numbered), di-and triesters with propylidynetrimethanol (CAS 11138-60-6) to freshwater algae are available. During both static Algal Growth Inhibition tests no inhibiting effects on growth rate were observed within 72 hour test period at the tested loading rates. The key study (Häner, 2007) according to OECD 201 withDesmodesmus subspicatusdetermined was performed with a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L (WAF). After an exposure of 72 h no effects on algal growth was observed resulting in an ErL0 ≥ 100 mg/L and an ErL50 > 100 mg/L. In the supporting study (Craig, 2005) which was performed similar to OECD 201 withPseudokirchneriella subcapitataan ErL50 and ErL10 > 1000 mg/L (WAF loading rate) resulted based on the growth indicating no effects under conditions tested.

All results show no toxicities of fatty acids, C8-10 (even numbered), di-and triesters with propylidynetrimethanol (CAS 11138-60-6) in the range of water solubility (< 0.3 mg/L).
