The test item has a low systemic toxicity and is not irritating to skin and eyes. It might however have skin sensitising properties at concentrations of 25% and above in pre-sensitised subjects based on data of a close structural analogue.
Exposure of consumers during article service life is not expected, from the dyed material. The concentration of Disperse Blue 291:1 in the dyed fibres is 5.88% at the maximum. The majority of this dye is encapsulated in the fibres and only a very small amount is present on the surface of the fibre. In addition, the fastness of the dye is 5 for all kinds of fabrics and contact with the skin, which is the highest possible value in the grey scale. Furthermore, the migration value (tested at 130°C for 30 min) is 1, which is the lowest value possible, confirming that no migration of the dye during use of dyed fabrics takes place.
