Description of key information

A 1st tier hydrolysis study was conducted for CHDM DGE following OECD 111 guidelines.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A 1sttier hydrolysis study was conducted for CHDM DGE in accordance with the test procedure described in the OECD “Hydrolysis as a Function of pH” guideline method 111. The test substance CHDM DGE (mixture of MGE, DGE, and Reaction product components) showed decreasing hydrolysis rates with a rise in pH. However, the hydrolysis half-lifes of the components of CHDM DGE were less than 2 days at 50 ± 0.5°C and pH of 4, 7, and 9, indicating that hydrolysis of CHDM DGE exceeded 10% after 5 days at each pH tested. Based on the OECD 111, CHDM DGE is considered to be hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7, and 9.
