Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.· After inhalation: In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.· After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.· After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.· After swallowing:Call a doctor immediately.Call for a doctor immediately.· Information for doctor: This substance has a strongly sensitising effect. Allergic skin rash and redness of skin may occur even after a transient contact via the gasphase.· The following symptoms may occur: No product-specific symptoms known.· Skin: Irritating action through sensitization.· Hazards and systemic effects: Sensitization possible through skin contact.· Possible routes of intake: Intake by swallowing or breathing of vapours.· Target organs: Skin.· Treatment: No specific antidot.Symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.· Special hazards caused by the substance, its products of combustion or resulting gases: In case of fire, the following can be released:Carbon monoxide (CO)· Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.· Additional information: Vapors are heavier than air.The action of heat on containers leads to an increase in pressure with the risk of bursting and subsequent explosion. (BLEVE) (BLEVE = Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapour Explosion)
Accidental release measures
· Person-related safety precautions: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.· Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.· Measures for cleaning/ collecting: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).· Additional information: In case of entry into waterways, soils or drains, inform the responsible authorities.Discharge into waste water channels and biological treatment plants only after clearence with the operating company and in accordance with localAuthority approval.
Handling and storage
· Handling· Information for safe handling: Keep containers tightly sealed.Prevent formation of aerosols.Use additional container if material is transported in glass bottles.Empty containers must not be used for other products.Contaminated protective equipment should be cleaned before taking it off.Fill only in dedicated and assigned containers.· Storage· Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in a cool location.· Corrosion of metals: It should generally be borne in mind that there is a possibility of corrosion on contact with this material. Resistance should be checked in each individual case.· Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from oxidizing agents.· Further information about storage conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers.· Acceptable storage time: No data available.· Specific applications: See chapter 1: Application of this substance/preparation.
