Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing.
Remove residues with soap and water. Call a physician if irritation persists.
Eye contact:
Irrigate immediately with large quantities of clean water for at least 15 minutes. Consult medical personnel.
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air if effects occur. Consult a physician.
Ingestion:
The decision of whether to induce vomiting or not should be made by an attending physician.
Note to physician:
No specific antidote. Treatment based on judgement of the physician in response to reactions of the patient.
Fire-fighting measures
Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, alcohol and polymer foam.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
Do not use a straight stream of water.
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or mixture itself, combustion products, resulting gases:
Under conditions of incomplete combustion or pyrolysis, phenolics and carbon oxides may be evolved.
The thermal decomposition products therefore should be treated as potentially hazardous substances and appropriate precautions should be taken.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and protective fire fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, trousers, boot and gloves).
Accidental release measures
Clean-up personnel should wear adequate protective clothing and equipment, see section concerning Exposure controls/personal protection. Remove all sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions:
Contain liquid to prevent further contamination of soil, surface water or ground water. Flushing and wash waters must be prevented from entering into soil, water ways and ground water.
Place contaminated materials in disposable containers and dispose of in a manner consistent with applicable regulations.
Methods for cleaning up:
Cover and soak up with a suitable absorbent material, such as: Sand. Collect in suitable and properly labelled containers. Dispose of according to applicable regulations. Residual can be removed with solvent. Solvents are not recommended for cleanup unless the recommended exposure guidelines and safe handling practices for the specific solvent are followed. Consult appropriate solvent SOS for handling information and exposure guidelines. Residual product may be removed using steam or hot soapy water. Do not dump into soil, water ways and ground water.
Handling and storage
Remove all sources of ignition. Practice care and caution to avoid skin and eye contact. Utilize recommended protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid breathing vapours of heated material. Do not allow to reach waterways.
Storage:
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Keep container closed and store in a cool area.

Exposure controls / personal protection

4. Body protection: wear chemical protection suit, apron. workpants, long sleeve work shirt or disposable coveralls and so on.

Stability and reactivity
No risk of specific hazardous reactions or fire under normal conditions. Keep away from excessive heat, sparks and open flame.
Materials to avoid:
Strong oxidizing agents, strong Lewis or mineral acids, and mineral and organic bases/especially primary and secondary aliphatic amines.
Hazardous decomposition products:
Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, aldehydes and other organic substances may be formed during combustion or elevated (>250°C) temperature degradation.
Disposal considerations
Recycling: should be in accordance with local regulations.
Landfilling : should be in accordance with local regulations.
