First-aid measures

General advice:- In all cases, immediately get medical attention.Following inhalation:  - Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.Following skin contact: - Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower for at least 15 minutes. Wash clothes before reuse. Following eye contact:- Rinse cautiously with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.Following ingestion:- Rinse mouth and drink large volume of water.- Do NOT induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:- Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.Unsuitable extinguishing media:- Water- Foam- Carbon dioxide- Halogenated extinguisherSpecial hazards arising from the substance or mixture:- No special exposure hazards in a fire: not combustible. In contact with water releases flammable gases, which may ignite spontaneously.Advice for fire fighters:- In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.- Fire fighters must wear fire resistant personnel protective equipment.- Wear chemical resistant oversuit.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.Keep away from ignition sources.Environmental precautions: Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up mechanically. Avoid formation of dust. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles. Do not flush with water or aqueous cleansing agents. Keep away from water.

Handling and storage

Safe handling: Wear protective clothing. Prevent formation of dust. Provide suction extractors if dust is formed. Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be regularly removed. When working with powdered material it is recommended to use a dry inert gas atmosphere and a local explosion proof exhaust system. Keep away from water or locations where water may be needed for fire.Information about fire - and explosion protection: Keep ignition sources away. Do not smoke. Finely distributed particles may be flammable or explosive.Storage: The material should be stored in dry, clean areas. Keep container tightly sealed. Keep away from ignition sources. Store away from flammable substances, oxidizing agents, humidity and water.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls:- Ensure adequate ventilation. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.- Apply technical measures to comply with occupational exposure limits.- Refer to protective measures listed under “handling and storage”.Occupational exposure controls:- Please refer to the exposure scenarios for RMMs (chapter 13)Environmental exposure controls:- Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

Stability and reactivity

No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.Contact with water releases flammable gases.Fine material may ignite during handling.Reacts with strong oxidizing agents.
