Administrative data
First-aid measures
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
- Eye contact:
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
- Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air.
If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth.
Seek medical advice.
- Ingestion:
Rinse mouth out with water.
Seek medical advice.
- Emergency equipment:
Provide wash facilities for eyes and skin near work area.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable : Carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, foam.
Use media appropriate for surrounding fire.
- Unsuitable:
- Exposure hazards:
High temperatures may liberate toxic gases. Do not breathe smoke or vapours.
- Protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Self contained breathing apparatus.
Wear suitable protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
Evacuate all personnel from danger area. Do not approach area without self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.
Ventilate area.
- Environmental precautions:
Contain any spill with dikes or absorbents to prevent migration and entry into sewers or streams.
Do not empty into drains.
- Methods for cleaning up:
Absorb spill with sand or vermiculite, shovel up and place in a labelled sealable container for subsequent safe disposal. Put leaking container into a labelled drum or overdrum.
Handling and storage
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Storage:
Store in dry, well-ventilated area.
Mechanical ventilation is recommended.
Local exhaust is needed at source of vapours.
Local ventilation is needed at bulk vessel openings.
