Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No biodegradation screening study is available for the registered substance. Data gaps regarding biodegradation is brigded by read across to a structural closely related substance (Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, C12-18-alkyl esters, disodium salts (CAS: 90268-36-3)) indicating that the substance is readily biodegradable in an OECD 301 B test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

No biodegradation screening study is available for the registered substance. Data gaps regarding biodegradation is brigded by read across to a structural closely related substance (Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, C12-18-alkyl esters, disodium salts (CAS: 90268-36-3))indicating that the substance is readily biodegradable in an OECD 301 B test. An additional supporting study (read across to CAS 147993 -66 -6) confirms ready biodegradation of the substance and provides a no effect value (NOEC) of 17 mg/L for the toxic control used for the derivation of STP PNEC.
