The specimen
in contact with the flame of the Bunsen
burner after 10 seconds begins to melt
superficially, the fusion product is
brown; It is observed a high flame ( till 5 cm)
deep yellow color. The time for the
propagation of combustion to the length
of 20 cm specimen is equal to about
385 seconds. The combustion
residue appears as a brown crust having
the consistency of the wax.
The test substance is not easily
flammable according to the aforementioned method,
since the propagation in the preliminary
screening test takes place in a time of
385 seconds and this value is higher
than the limit of 240 seconds.

Justification for classification or non-classification
According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008) powdered, granular or pasty substances or mixtures (except powders of metals or metal alloys — see 2.7.2.2) shall be classified as readily combustible solids when the time of burning of one or more of the test runs, performed in accordance with the test method described in Part III, sub-section 33.2.1, of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, is less than 45 seconds or the rate of burning is more than 2,2 mm/s.
The test of flammability was conducted according to the EU A.10 Method (1985).
Since the propagation in the preliminary screening test takes place in a time of 385 seconds, i.e. above the threshold limit of 240 sec,
then the substance should not be considered as highly flammable and no further testing is required. On this basis the substance is not classified according to the CLP Regulation.
