Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2000
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes
Remarks on result:
other: not auto-flammable

The determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, Methods for the determination of physicochemical properties, A. 16 "Relative self-ignition temperature for solids", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992.
The correlation between the temperature of the oven and the sample temperature of FAT 60253/A is shown in the figure below. Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, FAT 60'253/A showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement FAT 60'253/A was run out of the sample cube due to melting and completely evaporated. In conclusion, FAT 60253/A is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.

Conclusions:
In conclusion, FAT 60253/A is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
Executive summary:
