Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
29 July 1997 - 31 July 1997
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: A GLP compliant study performed in line with standard guidelines (OECD 117 and EU Method A.8) with a sufficient level of detail to assess the quality of the presented data.
Remarks:
Extrapolated value, outside calibration domain
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Batch No.of test material: 256231
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
6.2
Temp.:
35 °C
pH:
7
Details on results:
Testing was performed at 35°C (column temperature), however the values can be considered to represent the values at an unspecified, probably ambient temperature since no mention is made in the guidelines of the temperature at which the tabulated reference substances log Kow values were determined. Partition coefficients of the test and reference substances are assumed to vary with temperature in the same way.
Conclusions:
The log Pow was extrapolated to be 6.2, since the test substance peak was outside of the calibration range (log Pow = 0.9 to 5.7).
Executive summary:

The log Pow was extrapolated to be 6.2, since the test substance peak was outside of the calibration range (log Pow = 0.9 to 5.7).

Description of key information

The log Pow was extrapolated to be 6.2, since the test substance peak was outside of the calibration range (log Pow = 0.9 to 5.7).
