The water solubility of the test item FAT 40849/A TE was tested in a valid GLP study in accordance with EU Method A.6. In the preliminary test, about 7g of the substance were dissolved in 10 mL water and stirred at room temperature for about 24 hours in four replicates. The pH of the solutions was determined to be 5.8 after stirring. After centrifugation (about 2900 g for 10 minutes) and filtration (0.45 µm Nylon) the solutions were diluted in a ratio of 1:10000 with water and the concentration of FAT 40849/A TE was measured by HPLC. The mean measured concentration was 473.7 g/L. Since the substance was found to be completely soluble in water in the preliminary test, no main study was conducted and it was concluded that the water solubility of the test item FAT 40849/A TE is greater than 473.7 g/L at a test temperature of 22.6 °C.
