Additional information

Hydrolysis:

Half life for Hydrolysis of test substance 2-cyclohexylidene-2-phenylacetonitrile at pH 4,7 and 9 and temp.25 deg.C was found to be > 8760 h.

Biodegradation:

Biodegradation in water: screening tests:

Test substance 2-cyclohexylidene-2-phenylacetonitrile was not readily biodegradable in 28 days sampling period.

The percentage degradation of test substance reported as followed:

0 % degradation after 5 d

0 % degradation after 7 d

0 % degradation after 10 d

0 % degradation after 24 d

0 % degradation after 21 d

0 % degradation after 28 d

Supporting predicted study also indicate that the test substance 2-cyclohexylidene-2-phenylacetonitrile is not readily biodegradable.(EPI suite;BIOWIN (v4.10))

Adsorption / desorption:

Adsorption (log Koc) value of the test substance 2-cyclohexylidene-2-phenylacetonitrile was found to be 3.42.

Supporting study also indicate that the test substance 2-cyclohexylidene-2-phenylacetonitrile have 6274 L/kg (log KOC =3.7975), indicating that it is has a strong sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have negligible migration potential to groundwater.(EPI suite prediction)
