Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For the Proban STi (=THPC Urea Amine):
EC50 = 1.25 mg/L
NOEC = 0.42 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.25 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.42 mg/L

Additional information

For the Proban STi, the results for the algae toxicity are :

EC50 = 1.25 mg/L (expressed as notified substance)

NOEC = 0.42 mg/L (expressed as notified substance)

For the ITC826 Concentrate, the results for the algae toxicity are obtained below:

EC50= 0.15 mg/L

NOEC = 0.037 mg/L

To be consistent with the UK competent authorities assessment (Notification number 97 -06 -0925), the results obtained with the most recent representative reaction product, Proban STi have to be considered in the risk assessment. Therefore, as the algae are also the most sensitive species, the EC50 of 1.25 is considered in the risk assessment for the PNEC derivation.
