Description of key information

Triacetonetriamine was tested for ready biodegradbility according to OECD test guideline 301F. No biodegradation was observed under the test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The biodegradability of Triacetonetriamine has been tested in a manometric respirometry test study with non-adapted activated sludge according to OECD test guideline 301 F and in compliance to GLP. The degradation of the reference item sodium benzoate was not inhibited by the test substance. Under the tested conditions, the biodegradation level of 10% was not reach and did not increase within 28 days. The degradation of the reference item sodium benzoate was not inhibited by the test substance. Therefore, the test substance is regarded as not readily biodegradable within the 10-d window and after 28 days.
